Hi y’all. I’m Mike from North Carolina. Full disclosure, I have over 30 years of IT experience and currently work as a DevOps engineer. Much of my time is spent building things in the cloud (AWS and Azure), managing Apache and IIS web servers and Tomcat application servers. It’s interesting and challenging but I find I most enjoy the time I spend coding . Creating Infrastructure as Code (IaC) is cool but not as fulfilling as creating something with a nice UI. In the next few years I’d like to be ready to switch careers to do more web and mobile app design and development.
I first learned HTML back in the mid 90s working at a small college. I even taught it to our faculty and students. I’ve done a lot of coding over the years in various languages (Assembly, BASIC, Pascal, C, Java, VBScript, Powershell, Ansible, HTML, CSS) but I want to be more proficient with Responsive Web Design. Since the bulk of my current coding experience is creating virtual machines, utility apps and scripts (automation) I don’t get a lot of time to really work on web development skills. I’m hoping this Bootcamp and everyone learning together will help me get more focused on a path to developing solid web design and coding skills.

I am Aparajit Kapuria. A class 6 student from India. I already have basic knowledge of HTML but I did not start learning advanced HTML and CSS because of my classes and VIVA and all. So glad that I stumbled through this
bootcamp. Glad to learn Front-end web development as it is my dream job.

Hello! I’m Mei! I’m from Canada but currently live in Japan. I’ve already completed the fcc course but had some trouble applying the concepts to the projects (looking at you css grid…). I’m hoping to get a good understanding of all the concepts by going through them with you all in this bootcamp☺️

I found out about this class through Twitter and decided to sign up to refresh what I’ve learned and to meet others going for the certification too!
