Lesson 11: Use and Preservation

Human and wildlife conflicts as our mountain areas become more populated and wildlife travel corridors become clogged.
“Living with Wildlife” is an excellent 22 minute documentary exploring the work done in Canmore, Alberta, Canada to help humans and wildlife coexist. It’s a beautiful video and nicely explains some of the pressures animals face as humans move into their spaces. The trail use activity through the wildlife cameras is facinating. Canmore is in the Bow River Valley which was discussed in Lesson 5 on Water Towers in reference to glacier runoff and diurnal signals. Jess referred to Canmore during our live discussion on Tuesday June 1. Hope the link works and you can watch this video.
