Hi, everyone. Welcome to the study group! :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

Feel free to introduce yourself here. Here are some things we’d love to know:

  • Where are you from?
  • Have you taken online courses before? Which were your favorite?
  • What do you hope to get out of this study group?

For an overview of the study group and how to get started, head to this page.

I’ll go first! Hello everyone!

I’m Vishnu, this study group’s coordinator. I live in Bengaluru, India. Nice to e-meet you!

I took my first online course in 2011 and it was M101: MongoDB for Developers. My all-time favorite course is Country Level Economics: Macroeconomic Variables and Markets. I’ve taken about 13 online courses so far.

I generally sign-up for technology-related courses in areas including databases, programming languages, data modeling, backend engineering, search relevancy & ranking, and more. In my free time, I like to read non-fiction & biography books. I also write blog posts occasionally.

Taking online courses with learners worldwide has been a lot of fun. So I look forward to seeing this community continue to grow. Happy learning, everyone!

Hello everyone!

I’m Suparn from India.

At class central, we use Redis for data caching. Learning with worldwide learners and getting mentorship from @vishnu would definitely be amazing.
My past experience shows that I learn more effectively and chance of successful course completion increases when I learn in a group.

My online course journey for which I own a verified certificate started with a Data Base Management System course from Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur via Swayam during my Masters in CS (specialisation in Artificial Intelligence) from Central University of Rajasthan, India.
Afterwards, I’ve completed various MOOCs and online courses from Coursera, FutureLearn, and Udemy.
You can see all of them on my Class Central profile .

Among all, I found the course A Life of Happiness and Fulfillment to very useful and interesting.

Hello everyone,I am Riya saha,I am a undergraduate students.looking forward to have a great time with you all.

Hey, everyone!
I’m Dmytro from Ukraine, and occasionally take some courses online, the last of them, Reactjs, was quite helpful to my recent projects. I have Redis used in some of the projects I worked on, so I hope to learn how to better use it.

Hi, I’m Adam.
I live in the United States, currently based in Minnesota, but making a move to a different city shortly.

I’ve taken basic Python programing and a few other history/literature courses through MOOCs. I’ve taken on a lot of formal education in the medical sciences, though.

I hope be part of a community of other learners and hopefully feel competent with a new skill by the end of the course.

Hi All,

Hope you are well.

I am Paul from Sydney Australia. I take this community course first time, hoping to learn more and communicate with everyone to share knowledge.

My favourite tech course is Stanford’s Algorithms: Design and Analysis taught by Tim Roughgarden. It helped me get my first job in Silicon Valley.

I haven’t done a tech course in a long time, so I am hoping the study group will provide the motivation and support to help me finish this one.

  • I am Praveen currently doing my masters in Civil Engineering

Hi Everyone,

I am Rakesh, Network Automation Engineer from India.

Looking forward to collaborate with you folks on this course. I could NOT complete any MOOCs so far and I believe study groups keep us accountable to each other.

I will try to understand why we need Redis if we can already use memory to store data from programming languages. Also how Redis is used for pub-sub and queuing. These topics are new to me and will try to catch up as much as possible with your help.

Thanks and Stay Safe !
