I liked what Raj said near the beginning of the live session about having a life’s purpose with no end in sight. It reminded me of one of my favourite poems, CP Cavafy’s Ithaka, part of which goes
‘… Keep Ithaka always in your mind.
Arriving there is what you’re destined for.
But don’t hurry the journey at all.
Better if it lasts for years,
so you’re old by the time you reach the island,
wealthy with all you’ve gained on the way,
not expecting Ithaka to make you rich…’
Well worth reading in full/sticking on the fridge door etc. I first heard it read out by the professor leading the Alexander the Great course on edx, and it had a powerful effect.
